Real Name: Clare Reed
Birthday: Sep 22, 1968
About Me: Today I am an average athlete, I run and I am finding out I can run far and I happen to like hills... running up hills and skiing down hills.
But I am looking forward to seeing how far I can go and how competitive I just might get. Should be a pretty fun adventure.
Motivation: It starts with a desire to see what my body can do, then pushing myself to my limit is a great motivator, and having the active support from my friends and family is a major driving force.
You only live once, why waste it sitting on a couch or walking through a mall?
Goals: Break four hours in a marathon.
Increase my mile/min pace from the 8-9 min range to 7-8 to 6-7... that would be cool.
There is a 50 mile race in South Africa that each year rotates the start and finish lines so one year it is all up hill the next it is all down hill. Either way you have to finsh it within a certain time frame... that would be cool too.
Get into the NYC Marathon. In college I volunteered at the starting line a number of years... now I'd like to be a part of the racing field.
