Gerry Moffatt first arrived in Nepal on a British kayaking expedition at the age of eighteen. In 1990 he established the first river
company in Northern Pakistan. Over a period of twenty years he
descended all the major river in the Nepalese Himalaya and became the
main architect behind the mapping of the river systems throughout the
Kingdom of Bhutan. National Geographic considers him the most
experienced river guide in the Himalayas. In the spring of ’07 he
summated Mt. Everest as the presenter for the documentary to retrace
the extraordinary life of George Mallory and the tragic 1924 Everest
Expedition. Gerry has spent a considerable amount of time in front of
the camera, presenting documentaries for National Geographic
Television, PBS, BBC, Discovery Network, Outdoor Life Network, BBC,
Channel 4 and Trans World Sport. His experience in the world of
adventure is derived from a lifetime of expeditioning, instructing and
guiding throughout Asia, Africa and South America. Gerry now resides
between the Himalayas, Sun Valley and Maui where he can best pursue his
professional expertise in the world of global kayaking, skiing, kite
surfing, lecturing and filmmaking.
